Dr. Miakhel currently lives with his wife and three beautiful daughters in Ashburn. He enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, reading, watching/playing sports and has been involved in non-profit organizations to help with empowerment of the community.
Dr. Miakhel is a proud Afghan-American, who spent his childhood in a refugee camp, and immigrated to the U.S. in 1997 and has been a long-term resident of Northern Virginia since 1997. He attended Herndon High School and received Bachelor of Science in Biology from George Mason University.He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine in Cayman Islands and went on to complete his family medicine residency at Eastern Virginia Medial School in Norfolk, Virginia.
He enjoys caring for patients of all ages with special interests in preventive medicine and management of chronic diseases. His goal while treating patients is to develop strong relationships with patients and to provide patient-centered, compassionate and evidence based care.
